Wisconsin woman stabs ex-partner to death
On Friday, November 3, a Wisconsin woman who stabbed her ex-boyfriend 19 times while he slept was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison. In addition, the defendant, 22-year-old Morgan Taylor Lund, will have to undergo extended supervision for five years for aggravated violence. After that, she will be on probation for a further five years for endangering safety in the second degree. In August, Ms. Lund pleaded not guilty to both charges. Winnebago County authorities say she stabbed her ex-boyfriend 19 times while he slept with a pair of scissors.
The victim asked Morgan Lund for the truth after miraculously escaping the terrifying attack. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” he asked him. “I thought I saw something,” Lund said in response to the question “Why in my sleep, bro?” according to Law & Crime. The man replied, “No!” An officer arrived on the scene and saw blood. Documents indicate that when Officer Bennett arrived at the top of the stairs, he spotted a young blonde woman whose feet, legs, forearms and hands appeared to be covered in blood. She was also wearing an oversized blue UCLA sweatshirt.
Records also indicate that “she was applying pressure to the torso or right shoulder of a shirtless man, while leaning over the back of a black couch in a living room.” Prior to this event, the two men had not spent the best of times together. The former partner claimed that Lund had repeatedly hit him and physically abused him. They shared a child and a house, but were constantly at odds, to the point where he would end their arguments because he had nothing more to do with her. Yet their relationship ended a month or two before the stabbing. However, the man said he was unsure of Lund’s motivation for stabbing him, “especially in front of his daughter”.
