The Internet stands with Vivek Ramaswamy as he accuses Donna Brazil of ‘racism’ for mispronouncing his name

DES MOINES, IOWA: GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy gained support online when he criticized Democratic strategist Donna Brazil for making “racist” taunts and intentionally mispronouncing her name during an appearance on Friday’s episode of “Real Time” with Bill Maher.”

Show host Bill Maher was talking about the Republican field during a panel discussion with former Rep. Adam Kinzinger when Brazil mispronounced the Indian-American entrepreneur’s name several times and said, “Vivek needs to just shut up and go home.”

“We all hate Vivec, okay? It’s Wee-wake,” Maher corrected Brazile’s pronunciation of the 2024 Republican candidate’s name after Ramaswamy explained earlier this year how to pronounce it correctly.

“Well, whatever. Vi-Vake,” she waved it off, this time pronouncing his name correctly. — Could you say the same about others? Maher said but was interrupted by Brazil.

“Donna, I’m Donna. Vie-vek, this is Vie-vek Ramaswama. Ramaswamy,” she said with a laugh after mispronouncing his last name and pronouncing his first name differently this time.

“Vee-wake Ramaswamy,” Maher said at the time, to which Brazil responded, “Thank you very much. I learn a lot when I come to this show. It’s time for Vi-vac to go home.

“I agree,” Maher admitted, adding, “I just feel like there’s something wrong when everyone refuses to learn how to say their name. I just feel like there’s a bit of racism here. A little.”

“Wee-wake, Wee-wake, I’ll say this,” Kinzinger finally intervened in the dispute about pronunciation. “I’m just saying, I know we don’t like him, but just say his name correctly,” Maher said.

He then stated, “I heard him rap and he said it rhymed with cake.” This is what the CNN audience needs to know.”

What did Vivek Ramaswamy say about Donna Brazile?

The Roivant Sciences founder addressed Brazil’s mockery in a post that included a clip claiming Brazil had hinted that Ramaswamy should return home to India.

Brazile’s remarks were echoed by Ramaswamy’s communications director and senior adviser Trisha McLaughlin, who told The Daily Mail: “Reverse racism is racism.”

“If this had been a White Republican, he would have been fired and torn to shreds on cable TV. Donna will probably get “atta boy” from her co-workers. Terrible,” she continued.

Ramaswamy’s remarks attracted huge attention on social media with several users supporting him for destroying Brazil.

“Some people join the Democratic Party because it gives them the power and protection to publicly be racist bigots,” one user said.

“Perfect! It’s sad that some people resort to racism instead of having meaningful dialogue. Vivek Ramaswamy is an American, there is no doubt about it,” wrote a second user.

“Imagine the outcry if he had returned fire. “Well, many people believe that you want to return to Africa. What do you have to say about this, Dana Brazier?” — a third user supported Ramaswamy.

“She’s black, she has a special card that the Democrats gave her that allows her to spew racism,” said a fourth user, while a fifth said, “Another member of the leftist mafia sitting comfortably on his throne of lies!”

“If we send good Donna home, where will it be? Brazil(e)??” another user was outraged.

“This is what Democrats (and some Renos, like the one sitting to her right) think about us immigrants. Please let them keep talking… 😊,” wrote another.
