Tech Night Takes Flight in Gen V Spinoff: The Boys Join Comic Character Action
A well-known character from The Boys comic book will star in a TV show. In the new trailer for ‘Gen V’ released this week, actor Derek Wilson, who played Future Man, will play Tech Knight in the spinoff series set in a college.
Entertainment Weekly exclusively confirmed this information, and they also gave the first look at Derek Wilson’s performance.
Writer Garth Ennis and artist Darrick Robertson created the comics. They showed this super-powered person as part of a group called Payback.
Her specialty was wearing a solid outfit to fight her team members like Soldier Boy, Crimson Countess, and Stormfront. But, in the three seasons of Amazon’s The Boys TV show, they’ve used elements from the comics in different ways, as we’ve already seen.
What will the new season offer?
In season 3, they showed the Payback team in the TV series, but Tech Night was not part of it. However, if you remember, they talked about him in season 1. In a group of regular people injured by superheroes, a woman talked about how Tech Knight once saved her from a hostage situation, but she accidentally hurt her spine, leaving. He is unable to move.
In Season 2, when Homelander is in a movie called “Take Night Lives”.
The character will finally step into the spotlight and appear in a live-action role in Gev V. The show is about students at Godolkin University, a top college for young superheroes run by Vought. They haven’t revealed much yet about how Tech Knight fits into the story.
Wilson is already involved with the boys group. He starred as Donnie, “Bunny Man” Schenk on AMC’s Publicist, created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and he later worked with Eric Kripke on The Boys.
Interestingly, Preacher is also based on a comic by Ennis. Now, Rogen, Goldberg and Kripke are executive producers on Gen V, and the first season is overseen by Michelle Fazekas and Tara Butters.
