Sylvester Stallone reflects on his unemployed days while appearing on his daughters’ podcast “Unwaxed.”

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sylvester Stallone appeared on his daughters’ podcast “Unwaxed.”

“Rocky” opened up about his difficult times, which made him question whether he was a good father to Sofia, 27, and Sistine, 25.

“I was embarrassed to be your father,” he recalled in the early 2000s, when his acting career was in decline.

“I felt so worthless. You don’t even really know what I do for a living,” he added.

Turning point in Sylvester’s acting career

However, as People reports, that all changed following the success of his Rocky franchise in the ’70s and ’80s.

“When the good times pass, that’s when you realize your family is so important,” he told his daughters. “The ship was sailing towards me, it was pretty bad. And I realized that the people you thought were your friends are not really your friends.”

He added: “I thought I was definitely done. The phone didn’t ring.”

Last year, the Expendables actor admitted that he once put his career ahead of his family life. “Sometimes I put work ahead [my family]and it’s a tragic mistake that won’t happen again,” he told THR.

“It’s like I spent a lot of time and now I realize there aren’t many bullets left in the gun.”

In May, the series “Stallone’s Family” premiered, which shows how the 77-year-old man turns into a “real-life Rambo” when he meets his daughters’ boyfriends.

Stallone’s daughter Sistine said during a confessional on the show: “The first time the boy came to meet my parents, he was going to kiss, and I was so nervous, but I was excited, and he looked up at the balcony and he goes, ‘Oh my God.’ . What it is?'”

And that was my father, standing on the second floor balcony, backlit, so you just see the silhouette,” Sistine said during her confessional on the show. “He’s so cinematic in the most unnecessary ways [ways]”

Stallone also spoke in his documentary about an incident in which his father physically attacked him: “I was raised by a very physical father, you know? So I was familiar with serious pain, and I think it just became like, I’m not going to break. It doesn’t matter what he did, you know? I’m just not going to break.”

The “Rambo” actor and his brother Frank Jr. have provided an uncensored account of the corporal punishment they suffered at the hands of both their parents.

Stallone also has a 21-year-old daughter, Scarlett, with wife Jennifer Flavin.
