The series follows Cody and his polygamous life with multiple wives and children. Earlier episodes in the series saw Cody coming out to a friend who had just gone through a divorce, which made Cody consider giving up on plural marriage.

The episode witnesses Cody reflecting on his actions that have broken up three of his four marriages. Meanwhile, Janelle deals with the aftermath of her feelings after her recent fight with Cody. The family once again celebrates Christmas separately due to fighting among themselves.

The episode witnessed the Browns’ Christmas party with Mary feeling estranged from the family after spending Christmas with Robin and Cody. Although Cody is still married to Janelle, the couple has been fighting, with Cody considering divorce while Janelle spends Christmas with her children instead of spending it with her sister’s wife and Cody.

The episode begins with Cody and Jenelle having a fight, after Jenelle expresses her feelings for Cody, stating that she no longer wants to be married to him. Cody talks to Jenelle about not knowing what to say while Jenelle reveals her feelings for Cody, favoring his other wives and finding a way to get rid of him.

Jenelle thinks that Cody doesn’t want to continue as a plural husband, and Cody thinks that the big blow-out fight happened because he was building up infidelity after infidelity in his mind.
