MasterChef Season 13 Episodes 17 and 18: Release Date, Preview and Where to Watch
Fox’s MasterChef Season 13 Episodes 17 and 18 will be released soon. With only six home cooks left in last week’s double elimination challenge, the cooking competition is about to get even more intense.
Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Aaron Sanchez headline the 13th season of MasterChef USA United Tastes of America. Each contestant on this season of MasterChef USA is selected from different parts of the United States such as the South, West, Northeast, and Midwest.
With these diverse cooking styles and dishes, season 13 is shaping up to be the most interesting season of this cutthroat cooking competition.
Last week’s iconic wall challenge was just the start of a tougher challenge. Now that only 6 of the 20 initial contestants are left, the journey to the finale will begin in the upcoming episodes. The home cooks now remaining in season 13 include Kennedy, Seve, Jennifer, Regan, Wayne, and Grant.
MasterChef Season 13 Episode 16: Recap
In the 16th episode of MasterChef Season 13, the contestants faced the next challenge called “The Wall”. Wayne, who won the last challenge, was the one to decide the pairings for this episode’s challenge.
The Wall features two contestants cooking the same dish but with a wall between them. They have to communicate through it and try to make very similar dishes for the judges. This 8-foot tall wall is not the first time on MasterChef. We had the same challenge earlier in the old season.
Cooking in pairs creates more nervousness among cooks. The pair of Season 13 Wall Challenges were:
- Kennedy and Seve
- Bryn and Colby
- Jennifer and Reagan
- Owen and Grant
Four teams are given one hour to cook a restaurant-quality meal that tastes and looks the same. After deciding on the dishes they want to make in the pantry, the contestants communicate through the wall and begin preparing their food. Being able to communicate taste with words is going to be a difficult task.
After the challenge ends, the judges, Wayne and Grant, are called in first, and they present their dish, the pan seared filet mignon, which looks identical. Jennifer and Regan were next, and they presented some seared scallops, but their dish was not entirely identical.
Kennedy and Save also offer seared scallops, and although their dishes look similar, Kennedy’s sauce breaks down. Bryn and Colby bring a crispy skin salmon, but their plates don’t look the same.
Moreover, Colby’s dish was not cooked well, which was the main reason for their high probability of being sent back home. Brynn, Kolby, Jennifer, and Reagan scored the lowest. As expected, more were dropped last week Brine And Colby.
