The “Summertime Sadness” musician said her recent boyfriend couldn’t appreciate the simplicity of her home. “We had fights over this house, a couple of people. They didn’t understand it,” she said.

“Unfortunately, part of you knows… that’s not true. … It shocked me. I won’t name names or anything, but this man really shocked me. In fact, it was the end of the relationship,” the singer continued.

Gradually she realized that a man does not need who she really is, but rather the “idea of her.”
“This is a tough nut to crack. In this person’s case, there was something going on with them, like a little ego bubble,” Rae said of her ex.
