WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden celebrated his 81st birthday on November 20, a significant achievement for the oldest sitting president in United States history.
In an Instagram post, Biden showed off his birthday cake, joking: “Thank you everyone for the good birthday wishes today. Turns out you don’t have enough room for candles on your 146th birthday!”

The accompanying picture can rightly be described as incendiary, The Hill reports. The astonishing number of candles gathered on the round cake kept the crowded flames blazing as Biden enjoyed its hues.

Joe Biden faces growing concerns about his age
On the morning of his birthday, Biden was involved in the White House tradition of pardoning Thanksgiving turkeys, a tradition that he noted in his speech has continued for more than seven decades. This year the lucky winners were Liberty and Bell.

According to AP News, addressing the audience gathered at the event, the president joked about his birthday, saying: “By the way, today is my birthday. I just want you to know that being 60 is hard. Difficult”.
Biden added that guests in the Oval Office sang “Happy Birthday” to him before the event.
“This is the 76th anniversary of this event and I want you to know that I was not there the first time; I was too young to fix it,” he said.

The President is scheduled to travel to Nantucket with First Lady Jill Bidden to celebrate the First Lady’s birthday with her family. The couple will remain on the island in Massachusetts until Thanksgiving.
